My Life- My Adventure
MY adventure in life began on the 20th of April 1961 in England. Then at the age of 9 the family immigrated to Queensland Australia. My life followed a normal path, leaved school after finishing grade 10 ( had been working nights for just over a year by then).. Met and started living with the girl I would latter marry, and raise 3 children with.
In my early 30s I was struggling with understanding how, where and why I had low self-esteem, While raising a child who had with an attitude problems who, at 11 was just about to start a school for the worst behaved children. When they showed me how they would be restraining him, I know I didn’t want that, but what could I do to help him? Then while I was thinking about all mine and Craig’s problems, The answer came to me as clear as Mud if you will pardon the pun. So I started using this understanding to try and help Craig, But only had 2 weeks before school was to start, Very grateful the ideas and games we started worked and at the first meeting soon after he started the school. The headmistress asked who he was, as they get a detailed listed of what to expect, get the school had found Craig to be one of the most helpful, polite and well mannered children.
Believing I could help parents to have an easier more enjoyable adventure raising children I developed my course to help people, but soon found out I was not Dr Phill, no one know me. So i had the idea that if I could write the answers to the big parenting issues into a very quick and simple children’s story book that the parent could read as a bedtime story (in the late 90’s, before computers and iPhone), and hopefully understand, what was happening. After 2 years of thinking about how to write the book to explain what I saw as the biggest problem, Why children do when told don’t.
Book written I was ready BUT times were changing computers were the new popular and going door to door soon realized we were indeed becoming a cashless society. Tried “what I thought was all out”. No win -no go! gave up. But was very, very blessed that if I met somebody who had read one of my books, their reaction and words where more than warming for my heart, (For given from the heart-Is taken to the heart). One lady recognized me 14 years later just from the character. Yes, I am an egotist, and through this site, I am truly hoping to help others. and hearing about it will feed my very large ego. But if truth be told My hope is that through helping others I can secure a future for Max! Max, is my 10 year old, Autistic grandson, who I have been raising since he was just over a year old, talk about new and challenging.
