LESSONS LEARNT AND TAUGHT
WHILE RAISING THE LEGEND THAT IS
MAX MUDD
Once again I can only talk about lessons Max as taught me. As I am sure that as everybody is different, autistic children too are different . From a very early age Max was over helpful which I mistook for being noisy and always in the way, and would get told off for his actions. I am very ashamed to admit that I did not if he could or would, because he is “Artistic” But like most children he just wanted to help and if I had of given Max an item to carry in it would of made him feel good, useful and helpful.
But NO, “Max would you Please get out of the way, Put it back and stop taking things out of the bags’. Max was like that with whatever I tried to do, In the Garden, for instance if I was going to get something Max would try really hard to get it first which of course I thought was Max once again trying to upset me. ( Please know that Max when young till about the age of seven, behaved and acted in every way that i had seen on Television, Throwing himself on the ground screaming if life was not giving him what he wanted, and the NONE stop crying, timed Max 45 minutes when he was about three) . Never thought Max was trying to help me. Once again I could of made Max feel good and wanted by giving him a small job to do. Instead of, “Please Max can you find something else to do, Poppy is trying to work here”.

Where I first put it is it’s Home
Not thinking of it I would put things into a cupboard or a draw or in his room was where to Max it should live, Now this maybe a OCD thing, but if at a later time I think it work or be better, and as soon as Max saw it moved, he would look at me, as if to ask why it was there and I would explain that “Poppy thinks it is better there”. Too which he would return it to where he believed it lived.
